Our book "Exercises in Stochastics" is a collection of exercises in probability theory for students (but also for lecturers!). In addition to exercises with connections to the real world, you will also find numerous historical problems and paradoxes. For each problem there is a suggested solution and, where appropriate, a link to other problems. The content of the book is based on the twenty years of teaching experience of the Chair of Probability Theory at the University of Potsdam. Our basic stochastics lectures for students of mathematics, computer science, physics, geosciences and biology have always been illustrated with exercises. We have gradually collected these. Since 2021, we have then been working through the pool of exercises, researching the historical context in many places and adding annotations. This is how the book was created.
Thanks to the internationality of the professorship's academic staff (from Germany, France, Italy and Ukraine, among other countries), the reader gets a unique multicultural view of stochastics.
