Programs for your stay abroad
Students of the University of Potsdam who are interested in going abroad for study or an internship can apply for support at various established programs. Some of these programs are open for university staff as well. The International Office of the University of Potsdam is the central service point for these questions. Here is a short presentation of some of the existing programs:
The Erasmus program of the European Union supports students and also university staff in their stay abroad at a university in Europe. These are some of the opportunities of the Erasmus program:
- Erasmus exchange program: Students get support for studying at one of the partner universities of the Institute of Mathematics in Europe for one or two semesters. The financial support includes covering of tuition fees and a scholarship. The deadline for applications is January 31 for the subsequent academic year.

- Erasmus scholarships for internships abroad: Students get financial support for an internship of at least 2 months and at most 12 months with various employers (universities, institutes, schools, companies) in Europe. Students apply for financial support at the LEONARDO-Büro in Cottbus. Applications are considered at any time of the year.
- Erasmus Staff Mobility for Training: University staff (Scientists, employees from technics and administration) get support for teaching, education and training at a university or a company in Europe for a period of at least two days and at most two months.
- Program for studying outside of Europe: Students get support for studying at one of the partner universities of the University of Potsdam outside of Europe. Tuition fees will be covered. Students from the University of Potsdam apply at the International Office.
