I will first talk about the relationship between the spectral theory of Schrödinger operators and the dynamical properties of physical systems. I will then motivate the study of the spectral properties of families of Schrödinger operators associated to dynamical systems. Finally, I will outline how \(C^*\)-algebras and their $K$-theory can be useful for such investigations.
