We start with a short introduction to the IQTIG (Institut für Qualitätssicherung und Transparenz im Gesundheitswesen) as a key player in quality insurance in the German health care system and to the concept of quality indicators. The presentation will then focus on statistical methods applied to health care data. In particular, we discuss risk-adjustment and volume-outcome analyses.
