Abstract:
The Aztec diamond, under the uniform measure on domino tilings, is one of the classical gems
of integrable probability. Its special structure makes it exactly solvable, and over the years this
has led to a wealth of remarkable results. Even for more elaborate weightings the model remains
tractable and has attracted much recent interest.
In this talk we consider a disordered Aztec diamond, where the weights of dominoes are random
themselves. This model can be analyzed via Schur measures on partitions with random parameters.
We establish the limit shape and global fluctuations (quenched and annealed) via the technique of
Schur generating functions.
