Title: Wiener's lemma along subsequences.
Abstract: We discuss the validity of the classical Wiener lemma and the extremal behaviour of a measure on the unit circle via the behavior of its Fourier coefficients along subsequences, for example along polynomials and primes. We also present an operator theoretic analogue for orbits of operators on Hilbert and Banach spaces and discuss connection to ergodic theory. This is a joint work with Christophe Cuny and Bálint Farkas.
