Lecture Course: Spin Geometry

Lecturer: Christian Bär

Spin geometry is a subfield of differential geometry in which spinor fields play a significant role. We will explain what it is and learn about the fundamental Dirac equation. This leads to one of the most important mathematical results of the 20th century, the index theorem of Atiyah and Singer. We will also learn about geometric applications, e.g., for manifolds of positive scalar curvature.

The lecture will be given in English.
