Lecture: "Differential Geometry I"

Lecturer: Mehran Seyedhosseini

The aim of this lecture is to familiarise the students with the fundamental objects and concepts of differential geometry. After a brief review and introduction of differential calculus and point set topology, we will discuss

  • manifolds and their tangent and cotangent bundles
  • vector fields and flows
  • tensor fields and differential forms
  • integration and Stokes' Theorem
  • de Rham cohomology

The lecture will take place on Mondays and Thursdays 14:15 - 15:45. There will be an exercise session on Wednesdays 10:15 - 11:45.

This course will be tought in German.
