In this talk, I will present how the formal S-matrix and the interacting fields are constructed in the framework of perturbative algebraic quantum field theory (pAQFT). I will illustrate this on the example of the sine-Gordon model in 2 dimensions, where these objects are shown to converge as infinite series, for appropriate range of values of the coupling constant.
